Heretics And Lovers Are: Jow | Rob | Robin | Tinny | ChrisHeretics And Lovers Started in 2007, coming together from various other bands and projects. They soon released a 3 track demo ep titled 'The Eretica Sessions'. The Eretica Sessions, which is now no longer available was made for free download from all over the internet from various sites.
During the latter part of 2007 Heretics begin work on there forthcoming debut album. Believing in strong DIY ethics Heretics built there own studio (Happy Sounds) from scratch inputing all time, money and effort to make the recording of 'Prayers To An Empty Sky' possible. Heretics entered the studio in January 2008 and began a month long recording process. The band roped in producers Dan Dexter and Jesse Clark to help push there sounds to new levels resulting in a “descriptive words” album bursting in crunchier guitars, ethereal vocals and driving rhythms.
"Heretics and Lovers are a 5-piece alternative, post hardcore band from the South West with a melodic twist. Their debut album "Prayers to an empty sky" takes the listener on a journey through the progression and frustrations of life, weaving intricate, swirling guitars, a solid bass line, and soaring vocals into an exciting album which pushes the boundaries of the genre. Combining heaviness with moments of calm, this album will keep the listener's attention from start to finish."
In 2009 the band have began work on there second studio album under the name 'hel_lp2' or 'The Sock And Skull Rock And Roll Sessions'. There are no current plans for a release this year or next, but there are plans to enter the studio towards the end of the year to record less than a handfull of new songs to help shape the direction of the next album.
